Hello

Welcome to Mitchell’s Merch Help!

We’re here to make scanning NFC with your phone quick, easy, and stress-free. Whether you’re new to tapping or just need a refresher, this page will walk you through it step by step. We’ve got you covered — let’s make the magic happen together!

How to Scan an NFC Tag with Your Phone

1: Find the NFC Spot on Your Phone

  • Every phone has a small “magic” spot that reads NFC tags.

  • iPhones: The spot is usually at the top of the phone.

  • Android phones: It’s often in the middle or top-back part.

(Tip: You don’t need to tap the screen — just the back of your phone.)

Step 2: Make Sure NFC Is Turned On

  • Most Android phones need NFC turned on in Settings.

  • Some iPhones need the NFC reader turned on in Control Center or use the Shortcuts app.

  • If you’re not sure how, search “Turn on NFC” with your phone model.

Step 3: Hold Your Phone Close to the Tag

  • Hold the back of your phone close to the NFC tag — about 1 inch (2 cm) away.

  • Keep it still for a second or two.

  • Your phone will vibrate, beep, or show a message when it reads the tag.

If It Doesn’t Work, Try This:

  • Remove your phone case – some cases block the signal.

  • Move closer – make sure you’re right up against the tag.

  • Adjust the angle – try tilting or sliding your phone a little.

  • Check NFC is ON – go to your phone settings to double-check.

  • Some tags need a specific app – if nothing happens, you may need to open a certain app first.
